Our client is recruiting for an experienced Fruit and Veg Supervisor to join their team at their store in Gugulethu, Cape Town.


Job Purpose:

To create and maintain a fully functioning, profitable Fruit and Veg Department and promote excellent customer service and communication responsible for the full management of bakery department and staff.


Responsibilities:

  1. Meet customer needs with a smiling face and remember that the customer always comes first
  2. Always make our customers know that they are important
  3. Manage all customer questions and concerns
  4. Ensure that Fruit and Veg staff adheres to all customer service requirements
  5. Use customer suggestions and complaints to guarantee that the needs of the customers are being met
  6. Increase customers and bulk customers numbers for the department
  7. Planning the daily/ monthly operations of the Fruit and Veg Department
  8. Receiving stock and ensure cutting, packing, and merchandising is up to the company's Policies and Procedures
  9. Participate in the sales and marketing of the Bakery Department
  10. Plan, organize and participate in promotional activities
  11. Responsible for the general departmental costing
  12. Keep wastage and shrinkage to a minimum
  13. Scheduling of the staff ensuring adherence to scheduling procedure
  14. Induction and training of new staff members to the expected level
  15. Ensure compliance of the staff daily duties planned
  16. Address performance and personnel issues in a timely manner
  17. Take responsibility to meet the performance targets as set by Senior Store Management
  18. Adhere to company Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures and ensuring staff compliance there to
  19. Always ensure departmental cleanliness and hygiene
  20. Ensure that staff comply with the hygiene standards prescribed by the company
  21. Ensure all security measures and procedures are always adhered to

  5. Communication skills to train staff members and communicate problem areas
  6. Accurate with figures

  12. Be able to operate independently and as part of a team
  13. Good administration skill

Qualification:

  1. Grade 12(Matric)
  2. 1 to 2 years Fruit & Veg Department experience
  3. 5 Years Store Experience

Salary - Market related


Working Hours - Monday to Sunday (Shifts)
