Frontend Engineer

What you’ll be doing:

As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll create innovative web applications, working in a small, dynamic team to build scalable solutions with cutting-edge technologies. You’ll engage directly with clients, including CEOs and co-founders, to understand their needs and deliver bespoke solutions. You’ll learn hands-on, supported by experienced developers, and gradually take on more responsibility, including mentoring junior developers and managing your own projects. You'll thrive on solving complex problems and expanding your technical expertise.

You'll work on a hybrid basis from our office based in Green Point, Cape Town—a vibrant location, with amenities, beaches, parks, and the CBD all within close proximity.

What we’re looking for:

1. 4-5+ years of frontend engineering experience
2. React
3. Typescript
4. NextJS (specifically Next 14+, using the App Router & RSCs)
5. Experience with a variety of styling solutions (namely SCSS Modules, Tailwind)
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills

Beneficial Skills & Experience:

1. Tanstack Router + Tanstack Query for navigation and data fetching
2. Vite for SPA bundling and configuration
3. Deploying frontend apps in AWS
4. Integrating Headless CMS (Contentful)
5. Caching strategies for NextJS apps
6. GitHub Actions for CI/CD
