We’re looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join a team revolutionizing e-commerce in South Africa! If you’re skilled in React, Tailwind CSS, and have a passion for building exceptional user experiences, this role is for you.

We are a leading e-commerce, shipping, and payment service in South Africa seeking a skilled Front-End Developer with over 5 years of experience. You will develop and enhance user-facing features using modern technologies, working on a robust tech stack that includes React with Tailwind CSS. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, is capable of working independently on complex features, and mentors less experienced team members where possible.

Key Responsibilities

1. UI Development: Create, optimize, and maintain high-quality user interfaces using React and Tailwind CSS.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with back-end teams and UX/UI designers to integrate and enhance features.
3. Independent Ownership: Take responsibility for large, complex features—ensuring they pass most testing/verification steps in the first round.
4. Mentorship: Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
5. Quality Assurance: Ensure code meets the highest standards; participate in and contribute to code reviews.
6. Problem Solving: Proactively identify issues, determine and fix root causes, and suggest improvements.
7. Design & Architecture: Actively contribute to design discussions, propose innovative solutions, and consult seniors/leads for architectural decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Experience: 5+ years in front-end development.
2. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
3. Technical Skills:
   • Expertise in React and experience using Tailwind CSS.
   • Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
   • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration processes.
   • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
