Minimum of 5 years of investigation experience within a corporate environment
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Advanced current knowledge of South African legislation about security and HR environments
Ability to apply policies and procedures to complex situations
Basic understanding of security processes and protocol
Ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels, particularly senior management and union representatives
Conflict management skills
Knowledge of investigative techniques and practices
Working knowledge of evidence handling and case building for prosecution

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide professional support and oversee the smooth functioning of an efficient forensic investigation function in security, to minimize threats to employees or losses to the company
Investigate and compile facts and analysis of reported criminal activities and other incidents to detect misconduct and successfully implicate perpetrators of inter alia, theft, unethical practices, fraud, improprieties, etc.
Initiate, conduct, lead and coordinate all investigations of a security nature employing collating evidence, interviewing suspects and witnesses as well as the necessary liaison with the applicable authorities to identify root cause analysis and successful implementation of preventative measures
Maintain oversight and accountability for investigation case management, and keep improving efficiency
Asset protection management of terminated employees by retrieving assets unaccounted for, e.g. laptops, mobile phones, lease vehicles, etc.
Determine whether contractors and vendors on site are compliant with the company’s policies and procedures, investigate any breaches and communicate appropriate sanctions to the employers consistent with the company’s guidelines
Formulate key performance indicators (KPIs) for security as a performance measure tool
Represent the company in all criminal, labour and related cases in courts when required, and provide specialist evidence or testimony at CCMA or Labour Court or Criminal Court hearings on behalf of the company
Identify, analyse and communicate important trends relating to investigations, incidents and enquiries/ court processes
Exchange pertinent information (collaborate) and coordinate activities with other departments to mitigate risks to the business
Serve as a triage point for all whistleblower complaints
Based on the group security country travel restrictions input, provide travel risk reports for employees travelling internationally, monitor trends in high-risk countries and advise travellers accordingly
Participate in the development and delivery of training to new employees (contractual and permanent), global employees and contractors, highlighting security protocols applicable to their environment
Develop and maintain a wide network of contacts in the security field, agencies and authorities
Conduct confidential security surveys, perform surveillance and monitor suspects
Provide weekly/ monthly statistics regarding forensic investigation activities, status, outcomes, etc. to be included in monthly reports to the group
Coordinate and monitor the delegated tasks to the security service provider about the issuing of information for the company's vehicle identification
Coordinate all security activities about the CCTV network, ensure that all activities are in line with POPIA and that any sharing of information is documented accordingly
Partnering with the logistics team to be the single point of contact (SpoC) relating to losses which may have occurred due to a security breach, and investigating how the risk may be mitigated in future
Review of high-theft parts quarterly in conjunction with the logistics team
Acts as duty officer (member of the rotational team) after hours on behalf of the security department
Identify new methods of theft, fraud corruption and any other activity that may negatively affect the company by keeping abreast of activities in the criminal market
