Accounts Payable Position

Leading manufacturer has a position available for Accounts Payable.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics, English and Accounting.
2. National Diploma / Bachelor degree in Finance / Accounting required.
3. 5+ years of relevant experience in an FMCG or Manufacturing environment.
4. Advanced skills in Excel.
5. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Forward, SAP, Syspro).
6. Foreign creditors experience - ZAR, EUR, and USD.

Duties

1. Reconciling control accounts to sub-ledgers for ZAR, EUR, and USD.
2. Checking that the suppliers' invoice quantities and prices match those quoted on the purchase order and GRN.
3. Ensuring supplier invoices are allocated to the correct general ledger account.
4. Ensure that only valid tax invoices are accepted for processing.
5. Reconciliation of trade creditors accounts – Statement with Forward.
6. Investigating and clearing of GRN Control account and goods in transit account.
7. Complete the credit application as requested by the supplier in line with the requirements of the purchasing department.
8. Before the invoice is captured in the Forward System, ensure that all the back-up documentation is attached.
9. Ensure that invoices are processed in the correct foreign currency and at the correct rate of exchange.
10. Process all the trade creditors' payments.
11. Payment allocation to correct supplier invoices.
12. Prepare an accrual list for all items that are not accrued via the Forward System.
13. Maintain an accurate filing system.
14. Print month-end reports for payment run.
15. Following up on supplier queries.
16. Ensure card transactions are processed to the correct account in the GL.
17. Assist with stock counts.
18. Assist with fixed asset verifications.
19. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
20. Other accounting tasks as may be requested by the Finance Supervisor.
21. Ensure strict adherence to Group Key Financial Control Procedures.
