Our client, a longstanding leading importation company specializing in the finest Italian food products, wines, liquors, and catering equipment, headquartered in JHB with offices in Cape Town and Durban, is looking for a Food & Beverage New Business Sales Representative FOR THEIR CAPE TOWN OFFICE.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous new business sales experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Previous new business sales experience in the Liquor industry.
  • Previous new business sales experience in the Barista / Coffee industry.
  • Previous new business sales experience in Barista / Catering Equipment.
  • A valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
  • On the road repping / new business sales experience.
  • Must meet at least 2 of the above criteria and own a vehicle.

Job Description

The client is seeking a results-oriented On The Road Sales Representative to actively engage with prospective customers while nurturing positive business relationships with existing clientele.

Your role will involve providing comprehensive solutions tailored to restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessens, and other food distributors.

They are looking for an individual who can:

  • Drive revenue growth through new business.
  • Expand customer acquisition through new business.
  • Enhance overall profitability through building strong customer relations.
  • Possess a valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Own a reliable vehicle.
  • Be dynamic and proactive in expanding their distribution network in the greater Cape Town area.
  • Have a friendly demeanor and a strong passion for the food and beverage industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Increasing sales (New business).
  • Supporting marketing initiatives.
  • Staying informed about industry trends.
  • Experience in selling to the liquor industry, particularly with a focus on wine, is essential.
  • Experience in selling coffee & barista equipment to the Barista / Coffee industry is essential.
  • Sales - New business hunting - finding new clients for the client's products.
  • Develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships with new clients.
  • Promote and sell products using effective sales techniques to both existing and prospective customers.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
  • Analyze the market to:
    • Assess potential.
    • Track sales trends.
    • Compile weekly & monthly status reports.
  • Provide management with reports on:
    • Customer needs.
    • Issues.
    • Interests.
    • Competitive activities.
    • Potential for new products/services.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and promotional trends.
  • Initiate contact with potential customers through cold calling.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and needs analysis for existing/potential customers to meet their requirements.
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets within deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative in the Food & Beverage industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven with a successful track record in sales.
  • Strong skills in selling.
  • Strong skills in effective verbal and written (digital) communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to audience needs.
  • Strong relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
