The Maintenance and Repair Technician is responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of equipment and machines through maintenance and repair.
This role includes a wide range of responsibilities and requires adherence to engineering technical compliance and safety standards.
Internal Candidates: Recognized Fitter or Fitter & Turner Trade Test Certificate. Grade 12 with Math (not Literacy) and Science, with a minimum E symbol, and relevant two N2 Trade related subjects as per MQA guidelines, or N2 with four relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guidelines.
External Candidates: Grade 12 with Math (not Literacy) and Science, with a minimum E symbol, and four N2 relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guidelines.
Sound knowledge of MHSA, safety systems, and a high regard for safety regulations and standards.
Strong understanding of equipment, tools, and their uses.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
Ability to cope effectively with pressure in a production environment, being innovative and a self-starter.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to identify and repair faults and defects independently.
Valid K53 driver's license with own transport.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Certificate of Fitness.
At least 2 years of post-trade experience as a Fitter. Experience with conveyor systems, pumps, crushing and screening equipment, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
