Finished Goods Warehouse Assistant

Our client, situated in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town in Muizenberg, is the local branch of an international food manufacturing facility.

The company is one of the South African market-leaders in manufacturing therapeutic foods, while operating under extreme food safety conditions and standards. The company's Supply Chain Department is looking for a Finished Goods Warehouse Assistant to join the team and work in the various warehouses.

The incumbent will be part of the Supply Chain team and will report to the Warehouse Team Leader.

Duties:

1. Adhering to and maintaining food safety, health, quality and hygiene standards at all times
2. Adhering to and implementing standard operating procedures and the quality management system
3. Mitigating food safety and health & safety risks in the factory
4. Performing cleaning and sanitation procedures according to standard operating procedures
5. Performing truck, truck driver, container and incoming materials inspections
6. Receiving and off-loading raw materials
7. Picking and packing raw materials and finished goods
8. Preparing orders for dispatch
9. Dispatching and loading trucks and containers with finished goods
10. Operating the pallet jack and handheld jack (forklift if licensed)
11. Completing necessary paperwork (verification checklists, hygiene checklists, cleaning checklists, pallet sheets, order sheets, visual inspection checklists)
12. Reporting deviations regarding equipment, machinery, food safety and health & safety
13. Maintaining all housekeeping standards at all times
14. Providing reasonable ad-hoc assistance in other departments, as and when needed

Requirements:

1. Matric qualification
2. Knowledge of and experience working in the Food Industry and Standards in South Africa (e.g. HACCP, ISO, FSSC)
3. At least 3 years' knowledge of and experience in production / manufacturing / warehousing
4. Experience working in an FMCG environment
5. Experience / training in Occupational Health and Safety
6. Knowledge of and experience with stock-take procedures (FIFO)
7. Valid fork-lift licence
8. Willing and able to work shifts
9. Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
10. Strong administrative record-keeping and filing (manual / electronic)
11. Punctual, results-oriented, adaptable and able to work in a team environment
12. Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
13. Able to maintain high standards, good work ethic and integrity
