Role: Financial Reporting Accountant (Lead into Finance Manager)

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

We are now looking to expand our financial team by hiring a recently qualified Chartered Accountant to take on a key role in financial reporting, with a clear progression path into a Finance Manager position.

Role Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Chartered Accountant who is eager to take the next step in their career. In this Financial Reporting Accountant role, you will support the daily, monthly, and annual financial reporting requirements of Scoin Trading.

You will work closely with senior finance professionals to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and contribute to a wide range of strategic and operational finance activities. Over time, you will have the opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager role, taking on more responsibility and leadership within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monthly and Annual Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  2. General Ledger Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions in the general ledger, including account reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  3. Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify and explain variances between actual performance and budget, providing insights and recommendations to the management team.
  4. Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow) in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  5. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations. Ensure that tax compliance is maintained.
  6. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the finance team in developing and monitoring annual budgets and forecasts, contributing to business planning and strategy.
  7. Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, providing necessary financial documentation and responding to audit queries.
  8. Management Reporting: Provide detailed financial insights and reporting to senior management, aiding strategic decision-making and supporting business operations.
  9. Systems & Process Improvements: Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment between financial data and operational activities. Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business.

Skills & Experience Required:

  1. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with practical experience gained through a training contract or post-qualification in financial reporting and management accounting.
  2. Solid technical accounting knowledge, with experience in preparing financial reports, statements, and reconciliations.
  3. Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel, with strong analytical capabilities.
  4. Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Sage, or similar is advantageous.
  5. Strong understanding of IFRS and other financial regulations, ensuring compliance in financial reporting.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  8. Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  9. Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  10. Proactive and self-motivated, with a keen interest in taking on more responsibility and growing within the organization.
