Financial Officer - Asset Management

This role is based at Nedgroup Investments - Nedbank Clocktower Campus - Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret, collate, and present financial and non-financial information to drive strategy, enable decision-making, and support Nedgroup Investments as per the business strategy.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts within turnaround times by gathering business requirements, understanding trends, projecting forwards, and making recommendations.
• Prepare monthly reports by collating data, creating reports, analyzing, and commenting on results.
• Meet deadlines by working within the monthly strategic calendar.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships through relevant meetings and regular communication.
• Build trusting professional relationships by sharing knowledge, meeting deadlines, and providing high-quality work.
• Ensure all general ledger entries are accurate and correctly posted by checking daily reports, performing quality control checks, and querying incorrect postings.
• Perform quality control checks by verifying data accuracy, proper authorization, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Ensure compliance by following regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Stay informed of legislation and industry changes impacting the role by reading newsletters, websites, and attending sessions.
• Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
• Improve personal capability and stay updated in the field by identifying training courses and career progression through feedback from managers.
• Ensure personal growth and effectiveness in performance by completing all learning activities and maintaining certifications within specified time frames.
• Provide accurate information to stakeholders by sharing knowledge with the team.

• Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and policies, and support the implementation of new processes, policies, and systems.

Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Finance.
• Bachelor of Commerce is highly beneficial.
• 3 years' experience in Accounting and Financial Management, with 1-2 years' experience in Asset Management or Financial Services.
