Job description

We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager to join our dynamic consulting client in Centurion. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operational finance, IFRS for SMEs, consolidations, payroll, tax compliance, and financial controls.
This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting to the Financial Director, overseeing a small finance team (2–4 members), and playing a key role in ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance.


Qualifications & Experience

  • BCom Honours (Accounting/Finance or equivalent)
  • Professional membership and completed articles essential (SAICA preferred, SAIPA/ACCA also considered)
  • 10+ years of relevant financial management experience
  • Advanced Excel & financial modelling skills
  • Experience with Power BI advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full finance function including GL, payroll, taxation, monthly reporting, and annual AFS preparation.
  • Lead the compilation of annual financial statements and group consolidations in line with IFRS for SMEs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the external audit process.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
  • Ensure tax planning and compliance (Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, etc.).
  • Continuously improve processes through automation and digitisation.
  • Drive financial risk management, compliance, and policy governance.
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning and Exco decision-making.
  • Provide compassionate leadership and team development through coaching and mentorship.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, SARS e-Filing, and statutory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of systems: SAGE Payroll, Xero, Draftworx / CaseWare.
  • Practical experience in:
    • Month-end closing
    • Budgeting & forecasting
    • Payroll processing (EMP201, EMP501, IT14, VAT returns, etc.)
    • Treasury (AR/AP, FX, liquidity management)
    • Cost optimisation and efficiency improvement
    • Automation and digital finance tools
