Financial Manager

Our client in the engineering industry is looking for a financial manager to join their team in Midrand.

Position: Financial Manager
Industry: Engineering
Location: Midrand, Gauteng
Salary: Market related.

Qualifications & EXPERIENCE:

• BCom Degree/ relevant professional certification in Finance /Accounting.
• 10 years plus experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
• Experience in managing subsidiary accounts for different entities in Africa and exposure to forex transactions.
• Experience in the power and IPP industry will be an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing and implementing new operating systems and procedures for the financial section.
• Oversee financial operations and ensure efficiency.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Create and monitor annual budgets and forecasts and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Analyse financial data and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring financial terms are favourable.
• Manage relationships with vendors, optimizing costs and ensuring value for money.

Managing the Finance Team:

• Assist in hiring and training of new employees on the financial operations.
• Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counselling sessions to identify skill development needs.
