Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Manager to join one of the world's largest global independent bookmakers which provides a full portfolio of online, mobile betting and gaming and bookmaking with retail outlets nationally.

As a finance partner, you will support the business by ensuring effective financial control and problem resolution. The role involves managing accurate trial balances, providing timely and comprehensive financial reporting, and driving strategic decision-making through data analysis. The finance partner will oversee the setup and deployment of relevant systems, ensure taxes are submitted on time, and support the audit process. Additionally, they will lead the finance team, ensuring coaching, support, and KPI delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Support the business as a collaborative finance partner to ensure problems are resolved and financial control is effectively maintained and well managed.
2. Ensure accurate management accounts with trial balance in order and overall effective financial control.
3. Drive an overall effective troubleshooting approach ensuring accurate identification of problems and actions deployed to resolve timeously.
4. Ensure a comprehensive analysis of data is completed for strategic decision making.
5. Ensure the relevant systems and accounts are correctly set up and deployed on time.
6. Responsible for accurate reporting delivered on time to relevant parties.
7. Drive the submission of weekly taxes paid to the Gambling Board on time.
8. Support the audit process and drive any mitigating actions with the business.
9. Ensure successful completion and adoption of the CODA project; and ongoing optimisation.
10. Manage the finance team effectively ensuring coaching, support, and KPIs are delivered.

Experience and Skills

1. Degree in Finance.
2. 8+ years of experience in Financial Management.
3. Strong understanding of finance, commercial and business challenges.
4. Excellent stakeholder management skills and able to build key relationships.
5. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
6. Growth-focused, goal-oriented individual.
7. Able and willing to lead from the front, getting 'hands-on' as required.
8. Excellent numeric and communication skills.
9. A diplomatic and professional approach to conflict.
10. A people person who enjoys managing teams and cares about their team's welfare, as well as their output.
11. Experience working in Sports betting and Gaming would be an advantage.
