Job description

An established property investment company with operations dating back to early 2007, are looking for a Financial Manager, to join their team on-site in East London, Eastern Cape.

The Financial Manager would play a crucial role in guiding the company's financial health by developing strategic financial plans, conducting analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This will also suit a candidate who is considering relocating to the Eastern Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Developing financial strategies and plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Conducting financial analysis and forecasting to support informed decision-making.
  • Preparing budgets and monitoring performance against targets.
  • Collaborating with internal teams for financial inputs, assistance, and issue resolution.

Financial Reporting

  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
  • Presenting financial reports to management and key stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial performance reports.
  • Coordinating with external auditors as needed.

Cashflow Management

  • Managing cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
  • Overseeing receivables and payables to optimize cash flow efficiency.
  • Monitoring and improving working capital management.

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Assisting teams with project budgeting and tracking expenditures.
  • Implementing cost control measures to improve financial efficiency.
  • Analyzing cost structures to identify potential savings.
  • Preparing and presenting budget variance reports.

Financial Accounting & Compliance

  • Supervising financial record-keeping to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviewing tax-related reconciliations and ensuring timely tax submissions.
  • Managing tax calculations, compliance, and correspondence with relevant authorities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified CA(SA); CGMA
  • 3 years minimum of experience post-qualification
  • Experience working in a commercial environment is essential
  • Experience within the Property Investment / Property Management industry is beneficial
  • Proven track record in FP&A and Financial Reporting
