Type of Role: Part-time – Independent Contractor

About Us

Lucha LunakoTM is a forward thinking youth development organisation, created by our co-founders out of years of lived experience in the youth development sector in South Africa. We observed across hundreds of youth over several years, that the theory of providing technical and workplace readiness skills to youth alone does not produce young people ready to take up the opportunities that come their way. We believed we needed to go deeper into the root cause issues of youth unemployment.

We also believe that our youth are talented and have the potential to be successful, but need those who will partner with them to unlock their talent and gain access to income generating opportunities. We aspire to substantially shift the needle on youth development in South Africa and beyond.

Our mission is to provide scaled solutions to youth development, which promote partnership, collaboration and innovative approaches to creating and measuring impact in the youth sector. By identifying and engaging with how young people are affected by poverty and inequality at their root causes, we provide a model for shifting youth mindsets from surviving to thriving; and build understanding around pathways to decent income.

We work with funders, youth development organisations, business and government to ensure that these best practices are implemented so that impact is amplified and youth unemployability can be substantially and sustainably reduced.
