Sherbet Agency is a leading digital marketing agency that drives impactful and innovative campaigns for clients across a variety of industries. We're looking for a passionate Financial Clerk to join our team. If you feel that this is the position for you, we want to hear from you!

As a Financial Clerk, you will be supporting the Group Accountant and General Manager with all financial administrative tasks and coordination for effective and efficient service delivery to all stakeholders.

This role is designed for someone who is detail-oriented, passionate about finance, and meticulous in their role.

Responsibilities

  1. General financial administration support to Group Accountant and General Manager.
  2. Generating invoices based on purchase orders, or contracts and submitting to the Group Accountant.
  3. Making sure invoices are sent to clients on time.
  4. Ensuring that all customer details, information, and payment terms are correct before issuing invoices.
  5. Maintaining accurate records of invoices issued and providing such to the Group Accountant and General Manager.
  6. Ensuring that invoicing complies with company policies, tax regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Monitor employees’ Clockify hours and ensure that all employees’ hours are captured correctly and up to date.
  8. Provide a weekly report to Management on all employees’ Clockify hours.
  9. Telephonic and e-mail query management.
  10. Accurate data capture and analysis and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
  11. Capturing of minutes at all meetings and actioning any required deliverables from the meeting.
  12. Any other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience as a financial/invoicing clerk or similar role with a Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of basic mathematics and financial principles. Exceptional organisational skills, proactive, with the ability to work independently. Strong communication skills, both email and phone. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Technology: Proficient in accounting and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Comfortable with various online project management tools and digital platforms.
  • Qualities: Attention to detail and ability to identify errors or discrepancies in invoices, the capability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, and flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of a fast-growing organization.
  • Advantageous: Valid SA Driver’s license and own car.
  • Inherent: No criminal record.
