JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Clerk will provide essential support to the finance department by performing clerical and administrative tasks related to financial transactions and record-keeping. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy in handling financial data, and proficiency in financial software.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting systems
• Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, and reconciliations
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Assist manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with projects
• Inform manager of any discrepancies
• Ensure proper filing of financial documents and reports
• Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain & convey information or correct transactions
• Assist with general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, answering phones, and handling correspondence.
• Support the finance team in various projects and audits as needed.
• Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
• Create and update databases and records for financial information, personnel and other data
• Filing and archiving records
• Composing and preparing correspondence which is confidential

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric with accounting as a subject (Essential)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• No experience required
• Drivers license + own reliable transport
• Strong numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
• Delivers service and completes tasks according to specified and agreed deadlines
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
