Job Description
Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting a Financial Accountant for their client in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Review supplier reconciliations and payments prior to release.
• Process Forex payments via the current bank account.
• Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Assist with audits and other financial assessments as required.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and/or databases to record, monitor, and compile information.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., VAT201, EMP201).
• Perform general administrative duties associated with the position.
• Adhere to all deadlines set by management.
• Assist with cash flow management.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• 3+ years working experience as a Financial Accountant.
• Advanced MS Office Suite skills (Excel - Pivots, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (Syspro is preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Friendly yet assertive personality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Attention to detail with a flair for accuracy.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks.
• Experience with both IFRS and IFRS for SMEs will be advantageous.
