An expanding financial services provider is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its team. The organization specializes in financial wellness solutions, working closely with employers to provide responsible credit and debt restructuring services.

This role offers an opportunity for an ambitious Financial Accountant to play a key role in the financial operations of a multi-entity organization. Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for full-function accounting, including audit preparation, tax compliance, and financial reporting. The position requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across multiple departments.

Minimum Requirements (Essential Skills):

  1. BCom Accounting or BCom Financial Management Degree
  2. Completed articles in SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA
  3. 3 years of SAIPA/SAICA articles completed.
  4. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Sage Pastel Partner skills.
  5. ACPAS exposure (advantageous, but training will be provided).
  6. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  7. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  1. Bank statement processing and reconciliations using Sage Pastel Partner.
  2. VAT201, EMP201, and EMP501 submissions to ensure tax compliance.
  3. Journal entries and invoice capturing (customers and suppliers).
  4. Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  5. Audit preparation—working closely with external auditors.
  6. Liaising with SARS, tax consultants, and external auditors on compliance matters.
  7. Working across multiple entities to manage intercompany transactions.
  8. Assisting in the implementation and improvement of financial controls and processes.
