POSITION INFO:

1. Assist with annual budgeting process for group, to set targets and monitoring throughout the year
2. Review budgeted fees and expenses for variances and resolve where necessary
3. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
4. Ensure Head of Departments for all Business Units receive and sign the departmental financial results
5. Review financial info processed by the finance team to ensure accuracy
6. Assist in implementing systems for monthly reporting
7. Ensure accounting frameworks are consistently applied
8. Compile monthly balance sheet recon file and ensure integrity of line items
9. Analyse and identify cost versus budget and understand cost drivers
10. Identify cost saving opportunities
11. Compile and submit monthly VAT and EMP201 submissions
12. Sound knowledge of VAT processing
13. Reconciliation of VAT monthly
14. Compile and submit monthly Excise submission
15. Assist creditors clerks with capturing more complex invoices
16. Ensure invoice approval before payment release
17. Review monthly supplier recons
18. Check, verify and release bank payments and all foreign payments
19. Petty cash count and recon monthly
20. Ensure group procurement department operates effectively in securing best products and pricing
21. Detailed analysis and review on Cost of sales
22. Spot checks on stock
23. Review and approve final pay register
24. Import payroll journals monthly
25. Ensure integrity on fixed asset register
26. Accounts receivable reconciliations and review
27. Compiling monthly balance sheet recon
28. Assist with all audit queries
29. Provide feedback to creditors team and assist with their performance appraisals
30. Maintain strong relationships and communication with all team members
31. Develop external relationships with vendors
32. Ad hoc requests where required

Skills & Experience:

1. Completed SAIPA articles and registered PA(SA)
2. Minimum 1 or more years’ experience after articles
3. Hospitality or tourism industry exposure highly beneficial
