Role Purpose
The business requires someone both financially- and operationally minded to bring structure and order to the finance and admin teams and to advise the CFO on proposed efficiencies, process enhancements, and to act as the go-between across the various production and operational teams.
You will play a fundamental role in shaping the business operations, with a direct report to the CFO.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
What will you do:
Oversight of the entire operational finance team and function - tax, AFS, management
Modernisation of the finance functions
Process review and optimisation to drive efficiencies across the business
Driving of the annual budget process (not just preparation of the numbers)
Management of the annual audit and auditor relationship
Capex planning and motivation
Review of staff contracts, KPIs, incentivisation, annual reviews, etc.
Systems and process management: Ensuring that the financial systems (ERP and Reporting) are operating effectively across all entities in the appropriate area of responsibility.
Investigate and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiencies in the team (i.e. better use of data imports etc)
Liaise with BI to ensure that the transactional data received is relevant, accurate, complete and received on time.
Review reporting to ensure that all the relevant dimensions are posted.
Ensure that appropriate processes are in place in order to identify potential problems and escalate when required.
Attend weekly Ops meetings to ensure that all issues and queries are being addressed and escalated based on priority.
Ensure appropriate processes are in place to ensure that the team operates efficiently and meets group deadlines.
Cash Flow Management Support
Cash flow forecasting for various
Analysis of actual performance versus forecasts
Daily cash flow management and reporting
Weekly and monthly cash flow reporting to various stakeholders
Ad hoc projects identified by Management
Team management
Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
Openly communicate with managers and team members to ensure that all key deliverables are met on time and accurately and any queries are resolved timeously.
Effectively feed information to required members of the team to ensure all important updates are understood and adhered to.
Manage others' expectations appropriately and proactively communicate any potential problems.
Provide guidance, mentoring and support to all direct reports to ensure that each team is working efficiently and cohesively.
Daily team management and assistance.
Bi-annual KPI setting of objectives with teams.
Bi-annual appraisals of team members.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Accounting; Bachelor of Accounting Science or equivalent 6-9 years relevant experience in finance.
