EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Professional certification (SAICA membership or similar) is an advantage
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 years of experience in finance management or project finance, preferably within the renewable energy, engineering, or construction sectors
- Proven experience managing financials for engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting
- Experience with financial modelling, particularly in solar energy projects
- Knowledge of financial incentives, subsidies, and regulations within the renewable energy industry is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Financial Management:
- Analyse project finances, track budgets, and ensure profitability
- Control capital expenditures, cost overruns, and cash flows
Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure liquidity
- Oversee invoicing, collections, and supplier payments
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate financial reporting per standards (IFRS/local)
- Apply Percentage of Completion Accounting for revenue recognition
- Prepare financial reports and variance analysis and oversee audits
Cost Control and Efficiency:
- Monitor and reduce project costs without affecting quality
- Implement cost control strategies to maximize profitability
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop budgets and forecasts, and track expenditures
- Provide financial insights to improve profitability
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks in projects
- Implement financial controls to protect assets and ensure compliance
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the finance team
- Collaborate with departments to meet project financial needs
- Support funding proposals and stakeholder report
Strategic Financial Input:
- Provide financial insights for growth and expansion
- Assess market trends and incentives for new opportunities
Investor and Stakeholder Relations:
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for investors
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
