Key Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible to effectively plan, direct, and coordinate all financial-related activities of the organization.
Ensure good control over capex spend/financial modelling for Projects.
Design, develop, implement and coordinate finance control systems, policies and procedures. Specific focus will be on ensuring governance and compliance.
Drive overall cost control, as well as department budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
Ensure proper accounting of all capital expenditure, timely capitalization and depreciation of assets.
Prepare project proposals with the help of various financial modelling tools and develop sound recommendation for management decisions.
Preparations of forecasts, actual expenditure, cash flow and variance analysis.
Participate and value add during contract negotiations and contract finalisation. Maintain complete control over vendor payment, hygiene of capital work in-progress and fixed assets accounts.
Responsible for smooth conduct of both internal and external audits.
Experience and Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent) e.g. B Com.
Highly advantageous: Qualified CA.
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, with minimum of 3 years' experience at management level in a mining / construction / project's environment.
