Job description

BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Finance Business Partner to join a goal-oriented team.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  • CA(SA), CIMA or BComm Honors.
  • Recognition is given to Prior Learning and practical experience.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:

  • At least 5 years’ experience within a similar role.
  • Experience in external financial audits.
  • Product Costing.
  • SAP Experience.
  • Experience in general business management within an operations environment.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry advantageous.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Business Management:

  • Shared accountability for achieving the site’s tactical plans and mitigation of any risk to the site operation including workflow, ethics, quality, finances, regulatory compliance and other material company requirements.
  • Identify and continuously present key opportunities and synergies that will improve and/ or expand the operation within own and/ or other departments.
  • Monitoring & reporting on key operations, critical numbers and key performance indicators that impacts the business’s short, medium- and long-term objectives.
  • Effective and comprehensive costing, budgeting and expense management, taking all overlapping site activities into consideration.

Cost Analysis:

  • Analysis of the manufacturing operations and variances such as price vs. usage variances.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all cost of sales GL accounts at month end.
  • Realize & quantify cost savings together with improved terms and quality of supplier goods & services.
  • Overhead efficiency variance analysis.
  • Responsible for providing timely and insightful information and analysis to foster a proactive approach to managing the cost of production.
  • Liaise with budget holders to deliver cost reductions, quality improvements or security of supply outcomes.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining product costing in SAP.

Commercial Review and Project Evaluation:

  • Participate in the evaluation of capital projects to assist with the decision to invest.
  • Participate in the commercial and contractual evaluation of tenders and RFQ’s relating to capital projects.
  • Ongoing monitoring of projects and participation on project steering committees.
  • Ongoing monitoring and approval of the fixed asset investments.

B-BBEE:

  • Assist with development and implementation the BEE strategy of the company with respect to the Supplier Development and Enterprise Supplier Development pillars including preferential procurement.
  • Represent Finance on the BEE & Transformation committee.
  • Prepare the required calculations e.g. TMPS and update figures in the BBBEE tracking system.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Compile and update the company’s annual Opex budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Sales and Gross Margin analysis with reporting to business.
  • Calculate overheads during annual standard costing updates.
  • Conduct monthly budget vs Actual reviews with budget holders – report on monthly variances.
  • Assist with reporting for various forums – provide input to slide decks and other ad hoc requirements.
