Finance Analyst

Finance Analyst required for a reputable automotive company based in Sandton.

Brief Role Description

As part of the NSO Controlling team, the Financial Analyst role is responsible for effective planning, co-ordination, analysis and interpretation of strategic and financial inputs received from the Brands within the National Sales Organisation (NSO). It supports the achievement of local and international reporting deadlines and NSO Finance Controlling objectives.

Possible Tasks within this Role

1. Perform financial feasibility studies for all potential locally manufactured vehicles and FBU imports.
2. Ensure new products are accurately priced and support to secure approval of pricing following agreed international & local processes.
3. Monitoring the accuracy and interpreting equipment adjusted vehicle price indices.
4. Prepare product cost information for incorporation in the corporate budgets and medium-term planning.
5. Keep record of the Business Model, ensuring Headquarters (HQ) system is timeously and accurately updated.
6. Evaluate cost accuracy on an ongoing basis (forecast vs actual) and implement corrective action steps.
7. Establishment / implementation of Vehicle and Option pricing and the effect on turnover / profitability.
8. Evaluation / implementation of special package / options pricing (ad hoc).
9. Evaluation / implementation of ad hoc Rental & Government pricing requests.
10. Dealer / Rental / Government incentives evaluation, reporting and reconciliations.
11. Monitoring of Inflationary Price movements.
12. Preparation of Tenders (RT57) and quarterly RT57 pricing.
13. Preparation of Rental Company Proposals and submission of pricing (RT57 / Rental / Ad hoc & Incentives).
14. Preparation of Vorlagen for Quarterly Pricing meetings and Rental & State Tender Pricing meetings.
15. Manage the incentive budget / actuals relating to dealer performance and tactical programs.
16. Manage the provisions for vehicle related incentives, overheads, and fixed costs.

Qualification requirements

1. A formal 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Financial Management / Accounting / equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
2. A post-graduate qualification / Honours degree in Finance / Accounting / Business Management would be advantageous.

Experience needed

Minimum of 3 – 5 Years financial experience in motor or related industry.

1. Sound Business Acumen and understanding of financial principles.
2. Must be proficiency with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
3. Analytically minded with the ability and inclination to work accurately with financial detail.
4. Ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels.
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills to handle Cross Functional Teams.
6. Innovative, resourceful and action orientated.
7. Work independently and take accountability for own actions.
8. A team player yet be able to work and manage own output independently to meet high quality standards.
9. Work effectively under pressure to meet set deadlines.
