Job description
Responsibilities / Tasks
Troubleshooting of GEA equipment and other manufacturer’s equipment.
Performing planned and unplanned services, maintenance, and repairs to equipment of all types and sizes as per applicable GEA SOPs and maintenance manuals.
Installation and commissioning of equipment.
Assisting in service project execution activities.
Overhauling of equipment.
Performing tasks as per the defined and strict schedule to meet deadlines.
Carrying out site visits and monitoring site performance.
Gathering and classifying data using various measuring equipment applicable to the equipment.
Reading gauges and instruments, and adjusting mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control fluid pressure and distribution in systems.
Operating various equipment in compliance with legal guidelines.
Testing malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.
Coordinating with other departments for various purposes like budget expenditures, deadlines, and other technical support.
Preparing estimates for repairs and maintenance, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
Maintaining records of repairs and maintenance of equipment requiring future service as per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
Coordinating work schedules with other departments and shops to minimize inconvenience.
Providing technical direction to service personnel.
Adhering to and following all HSE governance of GEA and customers.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Certificate, diploma, or relevant qualification as an artisan in one of the technical fields relevant to our organization.
5 years of experience within our industry (seasoned artisan/FSE).
Mechanical.
Electrical AC & DC.
Millwright.
Fitter & Turner.
Other Skills & Competencies
Ability to read and understand basic schematics and diagrams in relevant field of expertise.
Customer service skills.
Problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills.
Team player.
Professional demeanor in dealings and communication with customers.
Sound knowledge of health and safety acts and legal requirements pertaining to the industry; preferably completed Health & Safety training course.
