Corrective Field Maintenance Engineer (FME) is responsible to maintain all mobile network installations in order to ensure maximum network availability.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain Cluster / Region / Network Allocated within a 24/7 availability model
Attend to ALL alarms - RAN, Transmission, Power and RF
Fault Finding, Troubleshooting, Fault Analyses and Reporting (Site Investigations)
Apply Full Scope Corrective Maintenance Execution including attending to Faults / Alarms on Masts and Roof Tops
Complete Work Orders allocated within Network SLA and Quality Standards
Manage Onsite landlord interaction
Update Site Information
3rd party supervision
On-site Service Activation/Deactivation
Preventive Maintenance and Planned Maintenance Execution
Escalate Site Security Incidents and complete required SAPS Case Number Reporting
Deploy, Connect, Recover and Refuel Mobile Generators as and when required
New Site Acceptance and Approval prior to Activation
Manage Spare Parts and Boot Spares within Network Process and Procedures
Required Formal Qualifications Criteria
National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or
N4 or higher Qualification in Electrical Engineering or
S3 or higher Qualification in Electronic Engineering or
Electrical Trade Test certificate or
BTech in Telecommunications / Electrical
Accredited Compliance Training Required
Valid South African Driver’s License
First Aid Training
Fire Fighting
Risk Assessment
Working at Heights (Fall Arrest with Basic Rescue or Rope Access Lvl1)
Valid Occupational Medical Certificate
Clear Criminal Record (Network Requirement)
Additional Skills, Aptitude and Experience Required
Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in Telecoms Corrective Maintenance on domestic mobile Network
Experienced in Use of Specialised Testing Equipment (Site Master, 3ZAlligner, Pim Test, Power Meters etc.)
Experience in Working with Industrial Mobile Generators
High Level Computer literacy
High Level of Relevant Technical literacy in English in both Written as well as verbal
