Job Title: Farm Manager

Summary

The Farm Manager will oversee the daily operations of a farm, ensuring efficient crop cultivation and livestock management. Key responsibilities include planning and executing targets, hiring and training staff, and supervising field workers.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Director to plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day running of the farm, including crop and animal care.
  3. Recruit and train new staff and contract services for outsourced tasks.
  4. Directly supervise all technical jobs within the farm, including machinery operations and plant care.
  5. Serve as the liaison between management and farm staff to ensure timely project execution.
  6. Develop plans and schedules for planting and harvesting, and communicate expectations to staff.
  7. Direct major operations at the facility, including routine maintenance practices and feed preparations.
  8. Prepare and provide budget plans for farm operations, equipment, and asset maintenance.
  9. Manage cash flow, monitor budgets, and prepare reports.
  10. Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards on the farm.
  11. Manage maintenance, repair, and replacement of farming structures, equipment, and machinery.
  12. Schedule repairs and maintenance, and monitor equipment usage.
  13. Monitor crop and animal yields, and implement improvement strategies.
  14. Analyze existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents to recommend improvements.
  15. Ensure company assets are used efficiently, while minimizing wasteful usage.
  16. Visit divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and perform routine checks on soil and water.
  17. Regularly restock seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies.
  18. Handle marketing and sales of farm products, such as vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain when required.
  19. Build professional networks and stay up-to-date on agricultural science developments.
  20. Plan and execute long-term company goals.
  21. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director.
