Factory Accountant

A renowned manufacturing and retail company, specializing in premium, design-led outdoor products, is seeking to expand its team in Cape Town with a skilled Factory Accountant.

The Factory Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance and be responsible for maintaining all manufacturing input data essential for operational decision-making, as well as preparing our monthly management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with inventory system controls and procedures to maintain data accuracy.
2. Analyze and provide reports on material usage.
3. Compile daily production and movement figures for all manufacturing areas.
4. Monitor inventory movement processes and initiate corrective measures when necessary.
5. Accurately document all rework activities.
6. Provide precise reports on parts and WIP (Work In Progress) scrapping.
7. Coordinate and assist with factory stock counts.
8. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
9. Report potential risks or concerns to management.
10. Ensure compliance with regulations to avoid unnecessary expenditure, promoting responsible resource management.
11. Identify and implement opportunities for cost control and reduction.

Qualification and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with Accounting or Finance as a major.
2. Min of 2 years experience working with stock and/or inventory.
3. In-progress CIMA designation or a completed professional designation would be advantageous.

Salary:

1. R25k - R30k / month CTC
