Job description

We are looking for a hands-on individual that will ensure the efficient daily functioning of all Company buildings/facilities, compliance with legislative requirements, and constant improvement of facilities (maintenance/repairs/refurbishment) while ensuring the safety, hygiene, and security of the staff/clients who access those areas.

Main job function

  1. Conduct routine preventative maintenance and checks on all buildings/facilities in the portfolio to ensure all are well maintained and running at optimal capacity.
  2. Ensure buildings/facilities are compliant with Health and Safety and relevant government/facilities management legislation.
  3. Source service providers to provide services where necessary, always adhering to procurement standards.
  4. Ensure the efficient management of contractors/service providers to ensure work is done and timelines met.
  5. Responsible for checking/maintenance of security and fire alarms in all buildings/facilities.
  6. Manage security of each building/facility, liaising with security service providers and handling incidents as and when they arise while also improving security of the units through preventative checks.
  7. Liaise with/management of pest control/hygiene/cleaning contractors as and when required.
  8. Suggest improvements and cost-saving initiatives for buildings/facilities.
  9. Handling building/facilities emergencies as and when they occur.
  10. Identify and repair basic electrical/plumbing/maintenance issues as and when they occur.
  11. Ensure management/control of tools/equipment at all times.
  12. Management and control of facilities expenditure to ensure costs are within budgetary requirements.
  13. Be available and willing to work after hours/weekends when required and be willing to travel (in/outside Gauteng).

Qualifications

  1. Matric.
  2. Relevant technical/business degree/national diploma.
  3. Trade certification (Electrical).
  4. Certificate in Facilities Management advantageous.
  5. Driver license essential.

Experience/Criteria

  1. 5+ Years relevant experience in a similar environment.
  2. SHEQ.
  3. Maintenance.
  4. Security.

Salary

R25 000 – R35 000 Basic pm.
