Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Electrician to be placed in Venetia.

The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering.

The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position.

Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.

Responsibilities:

1. Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
2. Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team
3. Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
4. Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, specifications and schedules
5. Electrical equipment installations are constructed and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
6. Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

1. Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
2. Section 26 Electrical Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body
3. Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
4. Flame Proof and Gas Testing Certificates (Advantageous)
5. Valid First Aid Certificate (Essential, if not available, must obtain at on-boarding)
6. Valid Code EB driver's license
7. Good English written and verbal communication skills

Work Experience:

1. 5 years or more mining industry experience (underground / Construction)
2. 5 years of trade experience as an Electrician
3. Ability to read and interpret drawings
4. Ability to do fault-finding from drawings
5. Ability to supervise team and apprentices
