Environmental Scientist – Cape Town

Position: Environmental Scientist

The client is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join their team in Cape Town.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Environmental screening and impact assessment
2. Report writing
3. Tender & proposal compilation
4. Public participation
5. Authority, client and specialist liaison
6. ECO auditing
7. Deliverable quality control

An interest in being involved in other sustainability projects in the built environment is advantageous.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management / Sciences or similar and a minimum of 5 years post-graduate environmental consulting experience. EAPASA registration is required. Must have a full, valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years post-graduate environmental consulting experience. Must have experience in undertaking Basic Assessments and EIAs in South Africa, preferably having managed a number of environmental authorisation applications independently from start to finish. Must have experience in compiling budgets, proposals, and tenders.

Skills:

Core understanding of NEMA, NEM:WA, MPRDA, NEM:AQA and NWA processes and associated legislation and regulations. Proficient in the MS Office Suite. Excellent English written and verbal skills.
