The Environmental Scientist develops environmental outputs through various stages of the project,undertakes coordination and carries out environmental studies while working as part of the projectteam. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment as an experiencedEngineer/Environmental Scientist/ Environmental Manager. Guides Graduate Engineer/ EnvironmentalScientist and provides reporting input to the specialist leads and works on detailed or routineenvironmental tasks involving surveys and monitoring. Manages Public Participation/StakeholderEngagement.
Contributes to the development of technical proposals. Develops EIA/ESIA reporting by gathering,correlating and analyzing environmental information and monitoring data using computer software andestablished procedures and standards. When possible, collects and analyses information fromrespective discipline and interdisciplinary project leads and external specialists. Fully developsthe Environmental report content by applying both survey inputs, inputs from specialist studies andtechnical knowledge to ensure high-quality output production by following project timelines. Applieslegislative knowledge to project triggers. Participates in the interdisciplinary review of projectdeliverables. Works on detailed or routine environmental assignments involving surveys, specifications,sketches, diagrams, specific discipline models/ inputs, drawings, reports and tender documents.Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision—coordinates withother discipline Engineers/ Scientists as applicable for the environmental assessments. Maintains anddevelops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring that the environmental quality ofreporting complies with Client and Authority requirements. Coordinates with Authorities for Environmental approvals.
Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.
