Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma qualification in Environmental Health.
• A current annual registration with the HPCSA as an Environmental Health Practitioner.
• Must have completed community service and registered with HPCSA as an independent Environmental Health Practitioner.
• Knowledge of relevant Environmental health related legislations.
• Ability to plan and organize own work to promote service delivery.
• Experience in environmental health management.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Duties:

• Responsible for implementing environmental health & mental health strategies.
• Surveillance and prevention of communicable disease.
• Malaria control.
• Management of health care waste & occupational hygiene in health care facilities.
• Responsible for environmental hygiene, pollution control and water monitoring.
• Collaboration with other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and manage training programs in the district.
• Conduct any work related to Environmental health services as required by the department, and within the scope of practice of environmental health.
