I am representing a downstream oil & gas business who are looking for a Risk & Assurance Lead to be based in their Johannesburg office but support global operations.
The Role:
- Drive a high performing Health, Safety & Environmental team that promotes a positive culture through accountability and effective leadership.
- Lead the implementation and measurement of H&S culture strategies, initiatives, and targets to drive continuous improvement in performance.
- Undertake SWOT analysis to support the business in understanding influences that may affect the implementation and management of an effective H&S management system.
- Prepare reports and presentations with recommendations for senior leadership teams.
- Continuously maintain, update, and improve ISO Management Systems.
- Support global teams with the improvement of their management of H&S.
The Candidate:
- 5-10 years of experience working in Health & Safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, or Environmental.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Hold a health & safety qualification (NEBOSH, Degree, Masters, Diploma, or NVQ).
- Experience in a high-risk sector such as oil & gas, Petrochem, or aviation.
- Experience with international standards ISO , ISO , ISO , and ISO.
- Strong analytical & conceptual skills.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Willingness to be based in Johannesburg and commutable distance from the office.
- This position will require global travel 20% / 30%.
