Are you a health & safety professional with experience working in a high-risk sector such as oil & gas, Petrochem, or aviation, and searching for a position where you can join a specialist business and have a global impact? This could be the opportunity for you.

I am representing a downstream oil & gas business who are looking for a Risk & Assurance Lead to be based in their Johannesburg office but support global operations.

The Role:

1. Drive a high performing Health, Safety & Environmental team that promotes a positive culture through accountability and effective leadership.
2. Lead the implementation and measurement of H&S culture strategies, initiatives, and targets to drive continuous improvement in performance.
3. Undertake SWOT analysis to support the business in understanding influences that may affect the implementation and management of an effective H&S management system.
4. Prepare reports and presentations with recommendations for senior leadership teams.
5. Continuously maintain, update, and improve ISO Management Systems.
6. Support global teams with the improvement of their management of H&S.

The Candidate:

1. 5-10 years of experience working in Health & Safety.
2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, or Environmental.
3. Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
4. Hold a health & safety qualification (NEBOSH, Degree, Masters, Diploma, or NVQ).
5. Experience in a high-risk sector such as oil & gas, Petrochem, or aviation.
6. Experience with international standards ISO , ISO , ISO , and ISO.
7. Strong analytical & conceptual skills.
8. Strong leadership and influencing skills.
9. Willingness to be based in Johannesburg and commutable distance from the office.
10. This position will require global travel 20% / 30%.
