Electrician

Our well-established client is looking for a qualified Electrician with a valid wireman's licence to join their team as an Electrician in the Solar Installation department. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing installation teams, conducting site inspections, and ensuring the maintenance of solar power systems, while guaranteeing that all work complies with industry standards and regulations. Also responsible for SSEG applications and certificates of compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Maintenance: Carry out the installation, testing, and maintenance of AC and DC solar power systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
2. Site Inspections: Lead and conduct site inspections to ensure all installations meet safety and quality requirements.
3. Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentice and junior electricians, ensuring best practices in solar installations.
4. Quality Assurance: Review site inspection and commissioning reports, ensuring their accuracy and recommending improvements where necessary.
5. Compliance: Ensure that all installations comply with South African electrical standards and solar energy regulations.
6. Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed records, including inspection reports, commissioning reports, and maintenance logs.
7. Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment on all job sites.

Qualifications:

1. Technical diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field
2. Valid wireman's licence
