Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Machine maintenance as per provided schedules (Performs PM's, cleans and lubricates injection moulding machines and equipment).
2. Troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of complex plastics processing and ancillary equipment.
3. Will be required to perform root cause analysis, practical development, and implement solutions to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
4. The company ideal candidate ensures that the facility and equipment are maintained at the highest level and runs efficiently; will coordinate and implement preventive maintenance activities; provides guidance to peers to ensure optimum production, quality, and safety while minimizing costs, energy usage, and waste in accordance with corporate policies and health & safety laws.
5. Modifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipment.
6. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
7. Visually inspects and solves problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
8. Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation.
9. Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
10. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
11. Potential duties may also include fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general carpentry or plumbing.
12. Participates in the implementation of various improvement projects.
13. Performs installation of new equipment and/or relocation of equipment.

Requirements:

1. Red seal qualification at a reputable institution.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems.
3. Experience with Plastic injection moulding, extrusion, and/or thermoforming.
4. Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts, and variable frequency drives.
5. Familiarity with the operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming.
6. Ability to safely trace electrical circuits with a multi-meter and wiring schematic to find faulty components.
7. Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC.
8. Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams.
9. Ability to perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
10. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
11. Proficiency with using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
12. Compliance with safety regulations and maintenance of clean and orderly work areas.
13. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
14. Good attendance and punctuality.
15. Good time management and problem-solving skills.
16. Ability to work independently.
17. Demonstrates positive demeanor, professionalism, and the ability to work within a team environment.
18. Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
