Job Description
Purpose of the job
Find efficient and effective solutions that support business processes and decision making. Using a variety of data tools and analysis methods, turn data into actionable insights with demonstrated business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse financial data and other operating information to identify efficiency improvements or better cost management.
Support process efficiency improvements in Finance and other support functions.
Interact with the business on financial outcomes and trends.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Generate management reports and financial information.
Minor level of financial control and reporting: financial reconciliations, month-end reporting, budgeting.
Identify opportunities to enhance management reporting and ensure/advise corrective action.
Work collaboratively with Systems Manager to automate management reporting and create predictive analytical insights and scenario planning to drive cost efficiency culture.
Data Management
Develop and execute standardised models, templates and processes for planning, budgeting and forecasting.
Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Acquire, combine and transform financial data from various sources into reports or interpretable datasets.
Data management and governance in terms of data protection compliance, retention, archiving guidelines, data standards etc.
Test and validate solutions in accordance with specification and user requirements.
Job Requirements
B. Com or related finance degree.
Preference for CA / CIMA qualification.
2-5 years experience within a similar role in a finance department.
Financial and Management Reporting experience will be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience with relevant software packages will be advantageous (SAP, GCP, Data / Looker Studio, Business Objects, SQL).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge and understanding of columnar databases advantageous.
Good communication skills and a team player that can cope in a dynamic environment.
