Senior Developer

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Trainee Tax Consultant. This role is ideal for a self-starter, eager to develop expertise in South African tax laws while gaining hands-on experience in tax compliance and advisory services. As part of this dynamic team, you will assist in providing tax-related services to individuals, businesses, and corporations. Your responsibilities will include supporting senior tax consultants, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and contributing to high-quality client solutions. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and a team player with a keen interest in tax and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns.
2. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to provide clients with accurate advice.
3. Support senior consultants in developing tax planning strategies for clients.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation.
5. Assist in the preparation of tax options and presentations for clients.
6. Help manage client relationships by providing excellent customer service.
7. Collaborate with team members to accomplish goals.
8. Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
9. Strong interest in becoming a Tax Specialist.

Requirements:

1. Successfully completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting in South Africa.
2. Holds a Masters Degree in Taxation or wishes to obtain qualification.
3. Completed a structured accounting traineeship under SAICA / SAIPA regulations.
4. Special interest in Tax.
5. Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
6. Excellent analytical and research skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
10. Team player with good interpersonal skills.
11. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
12. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
13. Previous internship or relevant experience in tax preparation or consulting is a plus.
