Video Editor

Overview

The position requires a high level of creativity and expertise in video editing and post-production. More specifically, it includes the following:

1. Offline edit TVC work that comes through Prodigious & PXP.
2. Direct content shoots.
3. Ideation for content and scriptwriting.
4. Work independently but also in a team context.
5. Set-up and operate editing systems.
6. Maintain acute awareness of deadlines, content requirements, and graphic guidelines.
7. Study and interpret scripts to become familiar with production concepts and requirements.
8. Footage conversion and ingestion, shot selection, etc.
9. Choose specific visual effects, music, and special audio elements.
10. Work closely with producers, directors, and motion designers to meet specific goals.
11. Assemble various audio materials into a finished product with high-level production quality.
12. Determine specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete videos.
13. Confer with producers and directors concerning layouts or editing approaches needed to increase the dramatic or entertainment value of production.
14. Collaborate with music editors to select appropriate soundtracks.
15. Other related editing requirements – grading, conversions, final material, etc.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

1. Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
2. A solid knowledge of Adobe After Effects is an advantage.
3. Considerable knowledge of methods, video equipment, computers, and techniques used in the video editing field.
4. Ability to visualize production scripts and or other verbal and written instructions.
5. Ability to effectively operate and maintain video editing systems and related equipment.
6. Knowledge of digital media and social media is key.
7. Ability to combine a creative eye with attention to detail.
8. Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
9. Organized and thorough.
10. Ability to take ownership and responsibility.
11. Ability to give creative input and direction.
12. Knowledge of technical elements of video – i.e., formats, codecs, delivery options, uploads, compression, web platforms (YouTube, etc.).
13. Problem solving and time management skills.
14. Resourcefulness.
15. Excellent attention to detail.
