Job Description:

The Production Manager will play a key role in supporting and facilitating the efforts of our production team leaders and supervisors. Rather than a traditional management role, this position emphasizes empowerment, coaching, and collaboration. The successful candidate will focus on removing obstacles, providing resources, and ensuring the team leaders and their teams can meet production targets efficiently and effectively. The goal is to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. This role will also focus on resource management, facilities layout, and health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a resource and facilitator for team leaders, providing them with the tools, information, and support they need to achieve production goals.

Collaborate closely with team leaders to identify and remove bottlenecks or inefficiencies in production processes.

Ensure the smooth coordination between production teams and other departments (e.g., engineering, design, quality control, and procurement).

Assist in the development of production schedules and ensure they are aligned with company objectives and customer deadlines. Develop and maintain strict quality control standards and work closely with quality assurance teams.

Lead efforts in continuous improvement, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency through lean manufacturing principles.

Promote strong communication and cooperation across teams, ensuring that production and quality standards are maintained. Work with team leaders to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges, providing guidance and support.

Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards are strictly adhered to across the production floor. Help team leaders monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.

Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities for team leaders to help them grow in their roles.

Qualifications:

Qualifications in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field will be a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably within the composite manufacturing or related industry.

Strong knowledge of composite materials and production processes such as resin infusion and prepreg processing. Demonstrated experience in managing production teams and driving operational efficiency.

Proficient in production planning software (ERP/MRP systems). Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Strong leadership and communication skills.
