Metallurgist Foreman

Our client based in the Pietermaritzburg area is seeking an experienced Metallurgist Foreman. The ideal candidate should have strong supervisory skills to coordinate the activities of the team.

Requirements:

• Necessary Metallurgical Engineering Qualification.
• Previous experience in metallurgy, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of metal properties, processing techniques, and industry standards.
• Ability to manage a team effectively and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in the metallurgy industry.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead the team in daily operations.
• Monitor metal processing operations, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
• Oversee the testing and analysis of metals to determine their composition and properties.
• Troubleshoot any issues related to metallurgical processes and implement solutions.
• Ensure all safety regulations are adhered to within the department.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, materials, and test results.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet production and operational goals.
