Job Title: Education Market Research Manager

Location: Fully Remote (South Africa-based candidates)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM UK Time
Salary: R28,000pm - R30,000pm DOE
Start Date: Must be able to start within two weeks

Job Overview
Are you passionate about market research and higher education? This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering impactful research projects that drive strategic decision-making. As a Market Research Manager, you will design and execute high-quality research initiatives that provide valuable insights for university clients. This role involves working closely with clients and internal teams, conducting fieldwork with prospective and current university students, and developing data-driven reports to support student recruitment and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage market research projects from briefing to final delivery, utilising both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations for student recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including focus groups, interviews, and surveys with prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Carry out UK-based fieldwork virtually, with international fieldwork conducted virtually only.
  • Develop detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards to effectively communicate research findings.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure research objectives are met.
  • Stay informed about higher education trends to provide strategic insights for clients.

Essential Skills and Experience
We are looking for an experienced and proactive market research professional with a strong interest in higher education.

  • Proven experience in market research, preferably within higher education or a related sector.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including survey design and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data tools such as SPSS, Excel, and data visualisation software like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • MRS Level 5 Advanced Certificate in Market & Social Research Practice (or equivalent).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on student recruitment campaigns or education-focused projects.
  • Familiarity with higher education datasets (e.g., UCAS, HESA).
  • MRS Level 7 Diploma in Market & Social Research Practice.
