Assistant Technician - Commercial

COMMERCIAL ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN:

Overall Purpose of the job:

Be able to do the installation of ALARMS installation for the security industry at Commercial and industrial premises from Alarms, Access control, CCTV, Fire, Installation, Wiring, Commissioning.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

1. Matric or equivalent
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electronic Security technician
3. Programming, wiring, installations and fault-finding experience
4. Valid code 08 driver’s licence essential
5. Must be PSIRA registered (Grade E, D C) OR Can Apply through Fidelity-ADT

Job Requirements:

1. Install and Program multiple alarm systems (Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, Risco)
2. Installation and Maintenance of electric fences
3. Smart CCTV systems (Line crossing, Facial recognition, Street surveillance etc.)
4. Integration of Electric fencing, CCTV, and Intruder alarm systems
5. Setup and maintenance of wireless, fibre and copper networks
6. Installation of basic electricity e.g., DB Boards, Inverters, UPSs, and Generators
7. Oversight and design of big projects
8. IT and Network support
9. Access Control systems (Bio-Metrix, UHF, Facial recognition, and Access cards)

Main duties & Responsibilities:

1. Program system as per specifications
2. Plan the cable runs with the wireman
3. Obtain customer codes before attending a call daily and when on Standby
4. Complete handovers
5. Complete job cards after every installation
6. Provide feedback to Manager / Supervisor and Call Centre upon completion of a call
7. Keep stock up to date and assist store man with stock take
8. Keep the company vehicle clean
9. Submit petrol slips
