Represents the company in selling chemical goods such as ceramic raw materials and compounds, inorganic pigmented solutions, ceramic grinding media and other products to manufacturing establishments.
Develop and prepare specifications of ceramic compound products undergoing physical and chemical changes during the manufacturing process.
Tasks related to this position include but are not limited to:
Following up clients to ensure satisfaction with products purchased
Providing prospective customers with information about the characteristics and functions of the products for sale, and demonstrating its use or qualities
Reporting customers’ reactions and requirements to line manager/HoD
Selling products and providing technical services to manufacturing business establishments
Obtaining and updating knowledge of market conditions and of employer’s and competitors’ goods and services
Quoting prices and credit terms, recording orders and arranging deliveries
Soliciting orders and selling goods to industrial and other establishments
Developing safety procedures to be employed
Preparing estimates of production costs and production progress reports for management
Performing tests throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables, including temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure
Establishing control standards and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency of chemical production operations and safety of workers operating equipment or working in close proximity to on-going chemical reactions
Specifying chemical production methods, materials and quality standards and ensuring that they conform to specifications
Performing laboratory studies of steps in the manufacture of new products and testing proposed processes in small scale operations such as a pilot plant
Establishing work measurement programs and analysing work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation
Studying functional statements, organizational charts and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication
Organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
Analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies
Inspecting plant to improve and maintain performance
Advising management on new production methods, techniques and equipment
Liaising with materials buying, storing and controlling departments to ensure a steady flow of supplies
Minimum Qualifications And/or Competencies:
BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering
Medical fitness for ceramic work environment
Valid driving license (compulsory)
Personal car (advantage)
