Main Purpose of the Job To provide financial, accounting and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate reporting of accounts under his/her control.
Scope of the Job The tax accountant role & responsibilities will be to look after the South & Eastern Africa Region (consisting of South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Ethiopia, Botswana, and Mozambique).

Taxation and Financial Compliance
Corporate Income taxation (including provisional taxation), VAT, Withholding taxation (WHT), and any other International tax matters.
Responsible for all related tax returns for all entities, including calculating, preparing, submitting, and ensuring payment is made on time, as per each region's tax deadlines.
Ensuring the necessary tax schedules are maintained on a regular basis and ready for submission with the corporate tax returns.
Reconcile all tax-related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Preparing deferred taxation calculations.
Ensure Tax packs are completed on a monthly basis.
Ensuring that all correct tax deductions are made when repaying intercompany accounts, and that these deductions are correctly filed and paid over to the Revenue authorities.
Preparing a monthly report of the status of monthly tax filing and risks identified.
Responsible for ensuring that all additional assessments received from the region's Revenue authorities are addressed on time, ensuring the necessary application of notice of objections and/or notices of appeal, as required.
Manage and drive all tax audit requests received from the region's Revenue authority.
Providing general tax advice and consultation as required (local and international).
Assist with preparing transfer pricing documentation, where required.
Ensure all statutory compliance requirements for all entities are met, as required in each region.
Assist with ad-hoc queries raised by Group Tax.

Qualifications
Minimum BCom degree in Tax.
At least 2 years' commercial experience in a similar role.
Experience with various African countries preferred.
Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of SAP Business One preferred.
Excellent English communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
