Job description

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, generators, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems

- Monitor and maintain the ship's fuel, water, and oil levels

- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues

- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks

- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures

- Train and supervise junior engineering staff

- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment

- Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergencies as needed

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Shift Engineer on a cruise ship or similar vessel

- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Flexibility to work long hours and shifts as needed
