Company Overview:
Our client, a leading wholesale distributor in Durban, specializes in a diverse range of products including Automotive, Hardware, Hand and Power Tools, Garden Tools, Generators, and more. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality products and outstanding customer service to a wide array of sectors across the region. The company is now seeking a dynamic HR Manager to join their growing team and lead the Human Resources function.

Position: HR Manager
Location: Durban

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, contributing to the overall business strategy.
  • Recruitment & Talent Management: Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding. Oversee talent management initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, and employee development programs.
  • Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring a harmonious and legally compliant workplace.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Manage disciplinary processes and employee grievances.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs and create programs to enhance employee skills and foster career growth.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll, manage employee benefits programs, and ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, oversee HR-related systems and data management, and manage all employment documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably within the wholesale, retail, or manufacturing sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with HR software systems and data management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
