Our Mining Client based in Gauteng is currently seeking a Mineral Resource Manager to join their team at their Head Offices.

Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this role is to undertake and ensure accuracy in the estimation of orebody grade and resource tonnages using statistical and geostatistical methods, and participate in due diligence reviews.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Resource Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive mineral resource assessments and provide strategic recommendations for optimal extraction.
2. Operational Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance mining operations and resource utilization efficiency.
3. Project Planning: Lead and contribute to the planning and execution of mineral resource projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with resource extraction, ensuring safe and sustainable practices.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with Geologists, Mining Engineers, and other stakeholders to maximize the value of mineral resources.
6. Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on mineral resource estimates, contributing to informed decision-making.

Position based in Centurion, will manage operations in Limpopo and North West, involving travel to sites regularly.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

1. BSc Degree in Geology.
2. Survey, Rock Engineering, and Mine Planning experience essential.
3. Extensive geological orebody modelling and estimation software experience.
4. Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in mineral resource evaluation and management.
5. Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in the mining industry.
6. Extensive knowledge of mining operations with a focus on resource optimization.
7. Proven track record in successful project management, demonstrating expertise in addressing various mining challenges and a comprehensive understanding of SA's mining regulations.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
