Millwright/ Electromechanical technician

Xelvin is looking for a skilled Millwright/ Electromechanical technician to join a dedicated 5-shift team. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, working closely with operators to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. From hydraulic presses and welding machines to pneumatic systems and PLCs, you’ll be the go-to expert for keeping operations running seamlessly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Maintain and repair production equipment (hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and more).
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings.
4. Work with screw compressors, overhead cranes, and mechanical components.
5. Utilize PLCs for programming and troubleshooting.
6. Perform preventative maintenance and report system issues.
7. Keep maintenance logs and analyze breakdown trends.
8. Support renovation and refurbishment projects.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Trade-certified Millwright or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance and repair within a production environment.
3. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
5. Solid understanding of screw compressors, overhead cranes, and electrical systems.
6. Experience working with PLCs (programming and troubleshooting is a big plus!).
7. Background in a manufacturing or processing industry is beneficial.
8. Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
